Hello. I would like to say that I do not own any of the Tenchi Muyo characters and or the Dragon Ball Z stories that I’m using in my fan fiction. I’m only writing this for the fun of it so please don’t sue me. I would like to thank those of you who’ve written e-mails to me telling me that you enjoy my story. And I would like to get some feedback from the readers, so if you have an opinion, send it to me at deathgiver2000@yahoo.com Now that I’ve gotten everything out of the way here is the continuation of the story. “When Worlds Collide –Chapter 10- No Need For A Shining Hope” The smell of dust and dirt was in the air. A cloud of smoke residing where Tenchi was just seconds before. Brian and Ayeka watched the cloud of smoke hoping that their friend was ok. There was a deafening silence in the wait to see what happens next. Ryoko was still in Damen's hold, the two of them looking at what happened when they weren't paying attention. Damen was trying to figure out what was going on. * I don't get it. Why did Kobiashi just kill his so-called friend? Does he hope that I will spare him, if he kills the others? This is interesting. * Ryoko was in shock at what happened. It appeared that Brian just killed Tenchi. * Why? Why would he kill Tenchi? Why? Why? * That one word rang throughout her head. Tears were forming in her eyes, she just witnessed the one that she loved, die at a friends hand. "BRIAN! WHY!?" She yelled tears streaming down her face. Suddenly a bright white light flashes, like the sun was just switched on that was just beside them. The light originating from the cloud, everyone looks at the light shielding their eyes to make out what's happening. Damen squints his eyes to try to understand what was occurring. He felt it was a strong energy, adding to the problem at hand for him. *What is going on? Are all these people filled with extraordinary power? First the purple haired woman gets a hit on me, then Ryoko here full of some unseen power, now this? Perhaps I should consider a hasty retreat. * Damen thought. The light dims and Tenchi is standing in an armor that Brian thought looked Jurian, but never saw it before. Brian was so lost in it, he didn't notice himself taking a step back. "What's going on?" He asked Ayeka, never taking his eyes off of Tenchi. "It's the Light Hawk Wings." She informed. "That's what the Light Hawk Wings do?" He asked amazed. "mmmhe." She hummed for a reply while nodding. Another wing formed in front of Tenchi. He grabbed it and it transformed into a physical sword. Damen watching above with Ryoko still in his hold. He didn't show that he was scared, he just looked with interest and shock. Ryoko taking notice that his attention was diverted, took advantage of him being caught off guard. She flung her head back and knocked into Damen's face. Not expecting the hit, his hold loosened on her and she pulled herself free. "You little witch." He said aloud in anger. He fired a blast at Ryoko. She disappeared and reappeared on the ground, being completely missed by his attack at her. Before he could do much of anything else he saw the red-haired woman of the group with her gun aimed in his direction. She fired a shot, the blast grazing past the left side of his head, singeing his hair. Damen disappeared and reappeared in front of Washu. The scientist was caught off guard at his ability to counter so quickly. The angered sayajin rips Washu's gun from her grasp. He looks the gun over, then in a fluent motion, breaks the gun in two using only his two hands. Washu knowing that she was going to be in trouble takes a couple of steps back. "Well let's see if you're a threat to me without your little toy." "Who me? No, I'm just an innocent little girl." The small red-haired wonder replied in her most childish voice she could make. "Leave her alone!" Tenchi demanded. Damen looked at the young warrior who looked determined to fight him off. He looked the boy over, he thought that the suit he had on was flashy, but that wouldn't help him in a fight with him. Damen smiled. "And what if I don't? Are you going to stop me?" Damen questioned, hoping to get a good response from the boy. "If I have to, I will." Tenchi answered. It wasn't the reaction that Damen wanted. He expected the boy to back down from him, instead of answering him so calmly. Damen couldn't tell if the boy was ultra brave, or totally stupid. Honestly he didn't care either which, he was going to kill him no matter what. “Kid you might as well face the facts, you can’t do anything to me. I’ve fought off a lot worse that a small group of space vigilantes.” “I don’t care who you have faced before. You’re attacking my family, so I’m doing what I can to protect them.” Damen was starting to get a little tired of listening to everyone’s attempt at a threat to him. He slowly started to levitate off the ground, not taking his eye’s off the youthful warrior in front of him. Tenchi tried to study his face to see if he could see if he was up to something, but Damen had such a calm face on, he couldn’t tell. Finally Damen stopped at an altitude where Tenchi had to look up at him. Damen looked at the group of people over once more. Seeing the group that had given him more trouble than he gave them credit for. After looking over the group, he decided that he wasn’t going to waste time with them anymore. He was just going to finish them off and then leave. Damen extended his left hand, palm opened up, facing Tenchi. The youth still stood there watching Damen, as it appeared that he was going to attack him. A small red ball started taking shape in his hand, letting the ball collect energy for the attack he stared down at the boy. Tenchi still wasn’t showing any sign of flinching from Damen’s standoff with him. Tenchi stood in his armor, holding the light hawk sword, not even holding it at a battle ready position. Brian watched Tenchi in wonder. He still couldn’t believe how calm Tenchi was acting, he could sense that Damen wasn’t going to fight him directly, but fire off that blast at him and destroy him. He would have been afraid for him, but he remembered how Katsuhito showed faith in Tenchi’s fighting skills. If he trusted his grandson so much, then he would show the same faith too. Finally Damen felt that the ball had more than enough energy for his assault on the boy. He gripped his hand around the ball, the light of the energy shining through the cracks of his fingers giving off a weird light show. Damen smiled at the though of what was going to be the others reactions to his demise. “That’s a nice light show you put on kid! But you won’t live long enough for an encore!!” Damen shouted, hurtling the basketball-sized ball at Tenchi. The others watched as Tenchi was watching the ball come toward him. The ball came within ten feet of him, when Tenchi twisted around and connected the light hawk sword to the energy ball. Tenchi’s deflection of Damen’s attack resembled a major leaguer hitting a ball out of the park. With Tenchi’s added force, the ball was sent back toward Damen twice as fast as it was released. Damen was caught completely off guard at the boys’ ability to deflect his attack. He didn’t have time to move out of the way, he crossed his arms out in front of him. The ball connected and the energy built up in the ball was released. A huge explosion resulted from hitting Damen, creating a big cloud of dust that hid the view of the shocked sayajin. Brian was astonished at what Tenchi was doing in front of him. He looked at the others next to him and they didn’t seem too surprised at him. Brian started to wonder what he had done the other times he used the light hawk wings if this wasn’t impressive to them. He suddenly sensed a movement of energy. Brian tracked the sense to where it stopped around Tenchi’s area. Damen appeared behind Tenchi, he looked like he was angry at what he was able to do to his attack so easily. Damen threw a knife hand with his left hand and connected with Tenchi’s neck. The gasps from the others were loud enough to be heard by Damen several feet away. However everyone’s faces slowly changed from concern, to amazement. Tenchi was still standing, in fact neither one of them were moving, it was as if someone pushed pause on reality and the two were frozen. Damen was surprised as well, he was able to see that his hand didn’t connect with Tenchi’s neck. It was a centimeter away from his neck, it was as if Damen had hit some invisible wall around him. Suddenly Tenchi’s elbow was in Damen’s face. The sayajin felt the warm feeling of his blood on his face. Instinctively, Damen covers his face with his hands at the painful sensation of a broken nose. Just as suddenly as his elbow, Tenchi’s right foot finds the wide-open midsection of Damen. Tenchi’s kick was like a mule kicking something behind it, but using on foot. Damen heard a crack at his kick into him as he was flung back. Damen was able to see the boy shrink as Damen was going further away. He felt a few cracks on his back as he was flung through a couple of trees. A second and a half after Tenchi’s kick connected, Damen’s back became rested in the side of the mountain. Everyone was able to see Damen clearly, he was nestled in the mountain, like he was sitting in an odd looking chair. Damen was able to regain his sense on where he was at and wondering what happened to get him embedded into the mountainside. * OK, now it’s official, I’m going to make a tactical retreat. * The sore sayajin though to himself. He reached down into his pocket and pulled out what looked like a small calculator. He pushed a couple of buttons and placed it back into his pocket. Back at the wreckage of Hurcles tour bus, one of the pods lights turns on inside. The computer inside made a couple of beeping sounds and the ship activated itself. The ship slowly started to rise out of the crater; a little debris from the bus felt off of the ship as it rose from the crater. After clearing the top of the hole the ship sped off headed toward the Masaki household. Back at the battlefield, Damen was removing himself from the mountainside. He was going to leave as soon as the ship arrived, but he was going to kill Kobiashi before he left the planet. Then after he regained from the fight and maybe find some reinforcement he would come back in full force and kill them all. Everyone was waiting for Damen to retaliate at what Tenchi just did to him. They could only imagine how irritated he was becoming, he must have been wanting to snap at the rage he must have been feeling. Damen was indeed feeling so much rage at everyone here, it was a maddening rage, where you were so angry all you felt you could really do is scream. However, he needed to keep himself sane enough to kill a few of them and retreat from the others to regain his energy and finish off the rest. Ryoko walked over to Tenchi. “You want me to take him on now or are you still wanting to get him?” “I don’t feel the need to kill him, I’m just fighting him off from hurting anyone.” “Your not wanting to kill him, after what he’s done to us?! Your grandfather is dead because of him and you don’t feel the need to kill him for it?!’ Ryoko argued in disbelief. Tenchi grimaced at the though of his grandfather doing what he did to help everyone. “Killing him won’t bring my grandfather back Ryoko. I don’t like killing anyone, even when I killed Kagato I didn’t want too, but I didn’t have a choice against him. I’m hoping that he will feel that he doesn’t stand a chance against us and stop trying to hurt anyone.” Ryoko wasn’t used to hearing that type of an idea, not seeking an eye for a eye, but trying to make peace with your opponent. She had to admit that Tenchi had a small point in his philosophy about making peace instead of war, but she still wanted to have some revenge on him. “I guess I can see your point on that Tenchi, but if he tries anything.” She paused for a minute looking sternly at Damen. “I’ll kill him without even thinking twice about it.” “The same goes for me as well.” Tenchi replied. Damen was slowly making his way back toward the group he’s been fighting against for most of the day. When he first saw the group, he thought that there wasn’t going to be any challenge at all, except from Kobiashi. And to his surprise these people are the most challenging group of individuals he’s ever come across. Damen flew down and landed near the group, still looking at the youth in the flashy armor and the woman with the cyan colored hair, who identified herself as Ryoko. He then looked over at Kobiashi, who was standing near the red-haired and the purple haired women. Damen was slowly walking over toward Brian, Ryoko and Tenchi were following him closely, ready to attack if he tried something. He came within five feet of Brian and Ryoko ignited her sword and held it toward his neck. Damen stopped where he was calmly looking at Ryoko and then back toward Brian. “Well Brian, was it? It looks like we’ve gotten ourselves a little ahead of ourselves. I’ve considered our options and one of two things can happen. One, we keep fighting and more of us die, or Two we call it a draw and leave it at that.” Brian couldn’t register what Damen was suggesting. “What are you saying?” “I’m saying I’m willing to just call it a draw, I lost Lazarus and you lost one of your friends. So let’s just drop it from here and leave. I’m willing to forget the grudge between us and go our separate ways.” “He’s lying! I’m going to kill you!” Ryoko declared. Tenchi’s hand stopped Ryoko from thrusting her energy sword through his neck. “Ryoko, please let it go?” Tenchi turned to Damen. “I don’t want to see or hear from you again. And if you come back to hurt anyone, I will kill you.” “Whatever.” Damen replied. Walking past Ryoko’s energy sword. Damen’s space pod was clearing the horizon of the mountains around the Masaki shrine. It settled down about ten feet away from where everyone was. Damen started to walk toward the pod, everyone else keeping their distance from him, while maintaining a close eye on him. Damen walked up to the pod, stopped, and turned to face the group of Tenchi’s friends. Everyone except Brian clenched up slightly, Ryoko glared at Damen, still feeling the anguish of what Katsuhito did. Tenchi felt the same for his grandfather’s demise, but he knew killing Damen wouldn’t bring him back. “Well I guess this is goodbye then Kobiashi. It’s a shame our friendship had to end this way.” “Our friendship ended a long time ago Damen.” “Yes I know it did. So goodbye old friend.” Damen said extending his hand out toward Brian. Brian looked at Damen’s attempt at a handshake goodbye. He looked back at Damen with a plain face not making any motions to walk over and shake his hand. Damen’s mouth contorted a little and lowered his hand back to his side. Damen turned and started to enter the pod. “Guess our friendship really is dead.” He said aloud when he was entering the ship. The door to the pod closed and the ship’s door sealed itself for space travel. Brian took a last look at the ship close up and turned to walk back toward the others. “Goodbye Damen.” Brian spoke aloud. Without warning Damen crashed through the door of his pod at full speed. The sudden sound of metal being shredded to pieces caused Brian to turn. He turned in time to see Damen’s fist burrow it’s way into his chest. Brian felt his enemies hand go into his chest and was able to look down to see Damen’s forearm disappear into his midsection. Damen’s forearm was becoming covered in Brian’s flowing blood. The others, who were behind Brian, could barely make out Damen’s fist sticking out of Brian’s back. “Goodbye old friend.” Damen said in a barely audible whisper to Brian. “NNNNNOOOOOO!!!” The others seemed to shout in unison with each other. Damen pulls his fist out of Brian’s chest, allowing Brian to fall to the ground. With Brian out of his view, Damen is able to see a charging Ryoko and Tenchi. Ryoko flies to Damen faster than Tenchi is able to run. Damen quickly smacks Ryoko’s energy sword hand out of the way and sticks Ryoko in the neck with a needle he had concealed in his other hand. “Goodnight.” He said in a mocking tone to the pirate, as the serum inside is injected into Ryoko’s neck. Damen kicks Ryoko away from him and prepares to fight off Tenchi’s attack. Ryoko was on the ground on her back sitting up slowly, she felt lightheaded. Her coordination seemed off and she had trouble trying to stand up. *What did he put in me? It must be powerful if it’s affecting ME already. * Ryoko panickly thought to herself. She was able to make out Tenchi attacking Damen, even with her vision becoming more blurry with each passing second. She kept trying to get up onto her feet, but the drug he injected into her was incredibly strong. Until finally she couldn’t fight it anymore and was overcome with the feeling of sleepiness. Ryoko’s upper body felt back onto the ground into a deep sleep. Damen was dodging Tenchi’s attacks onto him. Tenchi was not going to let him live now that he has wounded, possibly killed Brian. Damen seemed to be pulling out all the stops against Tenchi, he was landing in some kicks and punches onto Tenchi and he was feeling the hits. Tenchi straightened his back and flung his arms out to his sides, a bright blinding white light shown from Tenchi. Damen shielded his eyes from the light, but he thought that Tenchi was able to blind him, since he was seeing spots under the lids of his eyes. * Curse this kid!! Why won’t he just give up! When I see him again, I’ll rip his head off!! * The light coming from Tenchi stopped and he lowered his arms down and was starting to charge Damen. Hearing Tenchi’s charge toward him, Damen started climbing for altitude, he figured if the kid blinded him, he should get some distance between both of them. Tenchi watched Damen take off into the air, Tenchi flew off the ground and gave chase. Damen stopped when he thought that should be enough distance between the both of them. Damen rubbed his eyes in order to get them to be able to see again. He squinted his eyes and saw blackness, but his vision was starting to come back. At first there were blurs and then the images started to sharpen a little more. He saw movement not too far from him and was trying to get his eyes to refocus. His eyes came back into focus in time to see Tenchi deliver a flying kick into his stomach. Tenchi hit Damen with the force that he collected on the rise up to meet him. Tenchi could see that he knocked the wind out of Damen, as the two were moving with Tenchi’s momentum. Tenchi began hitting Damen in the face, punch after punch into his opponents face, Tenchi relieving his anger and rage for Damen in his punches into him. Damen regained his footing in the fight and caught a hold of Tenchi’s right arm during on of Tenchi’s punches. Damen pulled Tenchi into a punch into his stomach and backhanded him around a couple of times. Meanwhile on the ground, Washu looked Brian over. His wound was extremely bad, she injected him with some medicine to ease the pain of his wound. She had checked Ryoko moments before and found that she was knocked out with a very potent tranquilizer. Washu knew she had to get him back to her lab, in order for her to truly be able to help his chances of survival. She reached over and pulled Brian toward her, for her to get a better hold on him. Brian opened his eyes and found Washu was helping him. He tried to speak to her, but found that he had a hard enough time breathing, more or less speak to her. Washu held her hand over his mouth. “Don’t talk Brian, save your energy. You’ve been hurt badly and I need to get you to my lab in order to help you.” Washu knew that if she didn’t get him to her lab soon, he would surely perish. She had her doubts about the regeneration tank being able to help him. It would take about an hour for the healing process to be able to regenerate fast enough to help him. With the tank he would expire before the tank could do anything to help him. Brian could sense from her that he was mortally wounded. He felt her cold fear and concern from her, it was like an avalanche of dread hitting him. He knew he lost a lot of blood, he felt weak, his body felt cold over most of his body. Knowing he had to act fast, he pulls himself away from Washu, dropping onto his knees. Washu kneels down beside him to see what it is he’s trying to do. Brian places his hands on Washu’s cranium and closes his eyes. Washu, being in shock from the battle, is unable to understand what it was he was trying to accomplish. Suddenly she saw flashes of something she wasn’t able to make out. The flashes were happening so quickly that she couldn’t follow it completely. Her head started to feel like she ate ice cream way to fast. She cringes her eyes closed and let’s out a couple of small cries. Brian releases Washu’s head and supports himself up with his arms stretched out in a push-up position. He let’s himself slowly come back down to the earth and rolls over on his back. He felt so weak, his vision was beginning to get blurred. He could just hope that Tenchi would be able to defeat Damen and save the others. Electricity was flying off of Tenchi and Damen as their punches and kicks landed on the other. Neither of the two was holding back any longer. They were both going for the kill and ultimately victory. Some of the energy crackled around them and sparked a few trees to start burning. But the threat of a forest fire wasn’t disrupting their concentration on the battle. Damen took to the air and threw a blast at Tenchi. Tenchi blocked it with the light hawk sword and took to the air after him. Damen continued to evade direct contact with Tenchi. He flew with his back to the wind, facing Tenchi who was pursuing him still. He lobbed energy ball after energy ball at Tenchi, but he would dodge them effortlessly. Damen was getting enraged at Tenchi. He felt the burning hatred and frustration, consume him all over. He gritted his teeth in the anger he was feeling, his eyes twitching from being so angry. He just wanted Tenchi to die. “Why won’t you die!?!” He yelled at Tenchi as he flew toward him, fists balled up and at his sides. He and Tenchi collided into one another and the sparks were flying from the energy both were generating. The others below watched as the two were battling each other. All were watching in wonder, not taking their eyes off of the two, in fear that if they did something terrible would happen to their friend. All except Washu and Brian were watching. Washu was opening a dimensional door that would take her and Brian straight into her lab. The doorway opens up and Washu helps Brian get up and guides him through the doorway. Ayeka, Azaka, Kamidake, and an unconscious Ryoko were the only ones left on the battlefield except for Tenchi. Ayeka watched kneeled down holding Ryoko up as her bodyguards stood beside her and Ryoko, their energy shields generating at full power, to try to protect the two. Tears were coming down the princesses’ face. In one day she had lost a brother and that was all she could possibly deal with. If something happened to Tenchi, she didn’t know what she would do, or how she would be able to live without both. Damen was going insane from the frustration he was feeling. He has tried nearly everything he could think of in order to kill Tenchi, but to no avail. * I can’t believe what is happening. How can this be? I am the strongest sayajin left, and I am having trouble killing a high school student! * He felt that his mind was on the verge of snapping, but he didn’t seem to care anymore. His whole planet was destroyed and he is now the strongest sayajin left. Only he and Brian were the last two. Thinking of the traitor that rejected who and what he was fueled his anger more. His face was written with his rage, then suddenly he started laughing. Seeing his opponent starting to laugh made Tenchi a little nervous. He remained where he was and waited to see, what was going to happen next. * Oh, now what? Don’t tell me he’s still been toying with me and is going to reveal an even higher power. That would be impossible, even for me, I think. * Tenchi thought to himself. Damen continued to chuckle to himself, bringing his hand up to cover his face. Damen suddenly had an epiphany, his whole race was wiped out, making he and Brian the last two. Which means that the gods decided to exterminate their race, they were a mistake. * My race is dead, there’s no coming back for them. The universe decided that we were a mistake, then so be it! The sayajin race will go out with one last bang! * Damen thought to himself. Damen brought his hands to his side, his body tilted at an angle, giving him the best shot for hitting the earth. He started a yell that caused his energy to crackle around him. Tenchi wondered what it was he was doing. He didn’t seem to be aiming at him or anyone else. * What is it he’s trying to accomplish with this? Is this going to be some kind of trick? * Meanwhile back in Washu’s lab, Washu was doing whatever she could to help Brian. She had a machine start making repairs to his body, but the regeneration process was slow at best. She was doing everything she could do, and it didn’t seem like it would be enough. Washu held his hand and started telling him that he was going to be alright. Brian couldn’t tell if she was trying to ease his pain or hers. He knew that she had feelings for him, but he didn’t know how deep those feelings were. It had been the longest time since anyone needed him as much as it appeared that she did. “Please Brian, hold on. I don’t want to end up losing you. Even if your idea does work, there’s a big chance that it won’t. Please hold on.” Washu pleaded. A screen on Washu’s equipment popped up on her computer. Washu glanced at the readings on the screen, her eyes widened at the realization of the danger that was taking place outside. On the screen Tenchi seemed like he didn’t understand what was going on, but Washu understood what was going to occur. “I have to warn him.” The thought aloud. She started to go, but stopped and looked at Brian. She didn’t want to leave him, in fear that something would happen with her absent. * Washu . . . .Go. . .Warn Tenchi. * She heard in her head. She knew that it was Brian using his psychic abilities. “You just stay here, don’t go anywhere. Doctor’s orders.” The scientist finished with a slight smile. * Not planning on. . .going anywhere. . .Soon. * Brian answered. Washu opened a dimensional door and ran though. When she reached the other end, she was in the same place she helped Brian from. She ran toward Tenchi and yelled up to him as loud as her lungs could allow her too. “Tenchi! Stop him! He’s going to blow the planet!” Both Tenchi and Ayeka’s faces turned to a terrible realization of what was happening. Tenchi dropped from where he was at and landed down on the ground. Damen continued to put all of his energy into one big attack. He knew that he wouldn’t survive the attack, but neither was anyone else. Tenchi closed his eyes and concentrated on his power. He had to make an energy blast that would stop his attack from destroying the planet. He felt his power within him grow, if he ever needed this power the most, now was that time. Ayeka and Washu looked on in hope that in the end everything would be all right. “Tsunami be with you lord Tenchi.” Ayeka spoke. “Good luck Tenchi. I know you can do it.” Washu spoke with confidence. Damen felt that his power was completely charged for his all out attack. He raised his arms slightly past the side of his body. The light from the energy gathering in his hands seemed to be slipping through the cracks of his hands. “This planets destruction, is hearby dedicated to the memory of the sayajin race! See you all in the next dimension!” Damen yelled. Tenchi looked up toward his opponent, hopefully ready to take on his attack. He knew that either way of the outcome, the battle was soon going to end. Well thank you for reading this far into the story and I hope your enjoying it.
